Over twenty years of cooking experience is distilled into Franklin's Homewood Gourmet, which opened in July 1997 in Homewood, Alabama. The restaurant concept features a casual café, food to go, catering, private dinners and a cooking school. Chef Franklin Biggs is well known for his fresh, creative approach to food, using a variety of pastas, herbs and vegetables to accent well seasoned specialties of pasta, seafood, poultry and meat. A variety of sandwiches and salads are offered daily, including such creations as grilled meatloaf with tomato sauce on focaccia, and barbecued salmon on a soft yeast roll.
