The Kick’n Chick’n Wing Fest on Saturday, October 12 is a chicken wing cook-off between local Birmingham restaurants competing for the title of best wings in town, or what we like the call, The Thighsman Trophy. Thousands of locals come out to taste the fabulous wings and celebrate the South’s favorite fall tradition, football.

And the best part? All proceeds benefit Magic Moments!

In 2009, the Junior Board of Magic Moments created the Kick’n Chick’n Wing Fest as their signature event and way to raise money and awareness for this great organization. All proceeds raised from this event go directly to granting magic moments. Now, when could you say eating a chicken wing made a kid smile?!?!

Magic Moments fulfills the non-medical wishes of chronically ill children in Alabama, providing them an opportunity to turn away from illness and suffering – if only for a moment – and feel what it is like to just be a kid again!

Although their most common request is a trip to Disney, magic moments include shopping sprees, playhouses, as well as trips to other fun spots across the U.S. such as New York, Sea World in San Diego, Hollywood - even Oklahoma to see a rodeo! Magic Moments also hosts a Family Camp each year for magic moment recipients and their families at Children’s Harbor on Lake Martin.

Magic Moments is a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is dependent upon donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, and civic groups. The money we raise goes to help children in Alabama and in our 29 year history we have provided over 4200 magic moments in every county of the state.

The Fine Print

• Event is on Saturday, October 12 from 11am-4:30pm in Downtown Homewood
• Ticket order includes 5 wing vouchers, good for 1 wing from any of our participating restaurants. Additional vouchers are available for purchase at checkout and on the day of the event.
• Beer available for purchase at event. Must be 21 years or older to drink.
• Sorry, no pets allowed.
